Beans with onions from spaghetti western

Beans with onions are familiar to me from the spaghetti westerns of the 80s, in which Bud Spencer – together with Terence Hill – prepared and ate this seemingly simple dish with great relish.

So I tried to recreate this delicacy in the pan, and I can honestly tell you that it immediately became my favorite dish! Make it yourself! It really is insanely easy to make and very tasty!

Բաղադրիչներ՝

  • 200 g smoked bacon
  • 3 medium onions
  • 4-5 cloves of garlic
  • 1 tbsp tomato purée
  • 250 g red kidney beans
  • 250 g white kidney beans
  • salt & pepper, cumin, chili

Քայլեր՝

  1. Melt the sliced bacon and fry until crispy.
  2. Add the sliced onions and chopped garlic and fry for 4-5 minutes.
  3. Add the drained tinned beans and tomato puree. Season with salt, pepper, cumin and chili to taste. Pour in a cup of water and cook over a low heat for 20 minutes.
  4. Serve with a fresh slice of bread and enjoy!
