Vanilla Pudding Cake
The Hungarian pudding cake
This vanilla pudding cake is delicious and simple to make. Because of the thick dough, cream, and foam, this tray of cakes can serve a large number of people. Anyone looking for a little delicacy should try it. It’s also not too expensive to create. I initially prepared it for Christmas. The whole family enjoyed it, as it is not a very sweet cake, but it is still very tasty.
Ingredients of pudding cake:
- 8 eggs
- 12 tbsp granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp vanilla sugar or 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 14 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 350 ml milk
- 200 g butter
- 100 g powdered sugar
- 400 ml whipping cream
- 50 g dark chocolate
Steps:
- Separate the eggs. Add 8 tablespoons of sugar to the egg whites and beat to a firm foam.
- Mix the flour with the baking powder and carefully combine with the white foam. Pour the batter into a deep baking tray lined with parchment paper and spread it out with a spatula. Bake the batter in a preheated oven at 170°C (340°F) for 20 minutes. Leave to cool completely.
- Mix the egg yolks with 4 tablespoons of sugar, vanilla sugar, 6 tablespoons of flour and the milk with a whisk until lump-free. Cook over a low heat until the mixture thickens. Remove the mixture from the heat immediately to avoid scrambled eggs. Leave to cool, stirring occasionally.
- Mix the butter and 5 tablespoons of powdered sugar with an electric hand mixer until creamy. Carefully fold this cream into the egg yolk mixture and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- Pour and spread the mixture over the sponge cake and then place a layer of whipped cream on top. Sprinkle the cake with grated dark chocolate, slice it and enjoy your vanilla pudding cake!
