Fake or “Alföldi” (Great Hungarian Plain) fried beef meatloaf was previously accessible in tiny eateries in Hungary decades ago. It is now regaining popularity. One of the greatest vintage foods is fried minced beef. It’s significantly more crumbly than regular fried beef.
Ingredients of breaded beef meatloaf:
800 g (1,8 lbs) minced beef
1 medium onion
2 eggs
4-5 cloves of garlic
eggs, flour, breadcrumbs
1 cup of chopped parsley
salt, pepper, caraway, sweet paprika powder
cooking oil
Steps:
For 5 minutes, sauté the finely chopped onion in 2 tablespoons oil.
Cook for another 2 minutes, stirring constantly, after adding crushed garlic and a cup of chopped parsley. Allow to cool.
Combine the minced beef, sautéed veggies, eggs, and spices to taste in a mixing bowl. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours (or overnight).
Form slices from the mixture using your hands, then dip them in flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs.
Fry till crisp on both sides in heated oil.
Serve alongside baked potatoes and fresh veggies. Have a delicious supper!
