The perfect green bean soup

This Hungarian green bean soup is very easy to prepare. The sausage and bacon are filling, and the added sour cream makes the soup silky. It is guaranteed to warm you up on a colder day, but I also enjoy it in summer. Prepare it yourself and let yourself fall into the pleasure of eating it!

Ingredients:

  • 500 g cut green bean
  • 150 g bacon
  • 150 g smoked sausages
  • 1 onion
  • 3 medium potatoes
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 200 ml sour cream
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • salt & pepper, ground caraway, parsley, dill

Steps:

  1. Melt the bacon cut into strips and fry for 5 minutes. Add the sliced sausages and fry for a further 5 minutes.
  2. Add the finely chopped onion. Fry for 4-5 minutes. Add the crushed garlic and flour. Cook and stir for 1 minute. Pour in 8 cups of water or broth and add the green beans. Season with salt, ground caraway and ground black pepper to taste. Cook over medium heat for 15 minutes.
  3. Add the diced potatoes and cook until all vegetables are tender.
  4. Stir in the sour cream and season with chopped parsley and (or) dill to taste. Cook for a further 2-3 minutes.
  5. Serve with some sour cream and enjoy your green bean soup!
